Meaningful student engagement must be efficient in delivery for students and be structured in such a way as to ensure academic rigor and high quality outcomes for students while also being sustainable in terms of cost and time involved. In this paper, a case study of the redesigning of the course curriculum of one of the core chemical engineering subjects is presented. To fulfil student engagement, a flexible, industry-informed and sustainable curriculum using innovative and practical educational technologies was developed. As a result of implementing clickers, online quizzes and short video record of subjects' matter of course, a feedback rich environment was created which transformed students from being passive learners to being active leaners. After redesigning the course, students experienced a learning framework in which they feel confident and secure and can scaffold their learning to the next level.
